Idea 8
Double-bottom wall pouch
The wall-hung pouch was a mandatory presence in Brazilian bedrooms of the past, making use of whole shirts that no longer fit. The piece works like a decorative funnel: the physics is gravity pulling the contents toward the bottom, and the dense fabric holds the weight of small objects without bursting.
What you need
- A shirt or pants in sturdy fabric
- Thread and needle (or sewing machine)
- Cord or shoelace
- Scissors and pins
- A hook or nail on the wall
How to make it
-
1
Cut the body of the garment into a rectangle about 50 x 70 cm.
-
2
Fold in half (inside out) and sew both sides, reinforcing the base with two seams.
-
3
Turn right side out and fold the top opening in about 5 cm, sewing it to form a "tunnel" in the hem.
-
4
Thread the cord through the tunnel and knot the ends.
-
5
Hang it on the wall hook — the bag opens at the top and closes at the bottom.
Finishing touches
use a button-up shirt, taking advantage of the already-attached buttons as the opening. It works for toys, balls, dirty workout clothes, or even as a small bedroom bin.
