From the page: Your tangerine still has one more shine to give
Idea 1
Fragrant rinse tonic
Citrus fruit peels have always been a treasure of home hair care — grandmothers and country folk saved them for the final rinse of the bath. They are rich in essential oils and gentle acids, which leave hair shiny, fragrant, and with the cuticle sealed.
What you need
- Peels from 3 or 4 tangerines (well washed, only the colored part)
- 500 ml of water
- A small pot
- A lidded jar or bottle
- A strainer
How to make it
-
1
Wash the peels thoroughly under running water to remove surface residue, since they will come into contact with your scalp.
-
2
Boil the water with the peels for about 10 minutes over low heat — the heat extracts the aromatic oils and nutrients from the peel.
-
3
Turn off the heat, cover, and let it rest until cool; the long infusion draws out the maximum aroma and properties.
-
4
Strain well and store in the fridge in a clean jar, since water-based recipes spoil quickly without refrigeration.
-
5
After shampoo and conditioner, slowly pour the cold tonic over your hair, from mid-length to the ends, and massage your scalp.
Finishing touches
Do not rinse afterwards — the tonic's coldness already helps seal the hair and the tangerine scent stays subtle in your hair. Use within 5 days.
